This is all so interesting to me ... some of the deep deep often painful emotions that some of these girls are going thru ... and then the judges coming to help them to express these deep deep feelings into a "proper" understandable artist language ... like a teacher would with students trying to help students express their feelings into a well written essay ...

LMAO! When they start to show REAL art, and get REAL artists I will get interested. Smearing paint on a canvas is not art. The elephant at the zoo can create better art that this failed wannabe's combined. And these millennial children-judges are laughable at best. "On going to the edge of the canvas, how daring." "Oh look circles. " "Great use of black." "Oh I hate school bus yellow" ROFLMAO!!! What a joke. These wannabe judges would not know art if the Aphrodite of Melos fell on top of them.

What about Matisse? That may be an argument for "why" Picasso paintings may be very expensive--but it is certainly NO argument for Great Art nor for Great artists ! (Maybe in america it, because it's primary values are money and material things that lack uniqueness).

great video!! I just don't understand, if someone can explain, what do you mean with "too hyperrealistic" how is that bad?? there's so many great hyperrealism artists out there, and that sell a lot of artwork, so i don't get this point. and it's a way of also showing technique, mastery and skill no?

Please, please, please! We don't need the music. In fact it detracts from the great video. If you must use music, use some classical rather than 'in your face' music with horrible loud beat music. Please use soft, quiet music instead.. 🙏

I prefer the classic painting - beautiful work on the van Gogh section!! While the collage is cool, I think the other demonstrates more artistic skill.

Other red flags, they don’t teach colour theory, they don’t give in-depth study time to each skill, they teach you their method & mold you to paint like them and/or they promise miracles… had a lot of bad experiences in my pursuit of a good course…

I'm a current student of The Mastery program and it is well worth your time and money. Nothing more to say really EXCEPT... there kinda is. If you are a new student to art formally this program is a good fit. This is a good program if you have a formal education and want a refresher course in art and critics by other artists and students. But if you wish to have critics by Eli and Dimitra it won't be likely to happen unless you pay a lot more money and even that option is taken away very early in the program. Dimitra and Eli choose their mentees on a first come first serve and not by fit or desire to see more from that student as I've seen most mentors choose their mentees in all forms of any profession. This is off-putting to me that only money dictates them to mentor through the mastery program in this way. But I must end this positively because the program is a good one. But, I would find mentorship at other courses where the instruction and criticism come from the instructor/owner of the program at least once in a while.

Anyone who has actually paid attention to all of the OA seasons, and has actually watched and listened (with interest) to all the episodes in their entirety, knows that it most certainly is not only about artists who all have the same style or paint the same things. There’s been graffiti artists, animal artists, portrait artists, minimalist artists, maximalist artists, neon/fluorescent artists, neutral aesthetic artists, gothic artists, floral/botanical artists, contemporary artists, abstract artists, landscape artists, and every kind of artist in between. When a group of people are given a topic and guidelines to create something, you are bound to get similar results. You would not pass out flour, eggs, sugar, chocolate chips, a sheet pan, provide an oven, and tell the challenge group they have two hours to create something… but then expect one of them to produce a grilled steak, expect one to produce potato salad, and expect one to produce mac n cheese. You would definitely expect the entire group to produce something related to sweet baked goods, and most likely with the tools provided they would produce cookies-because that is what the assignment was. The OA critiques on each of the different art styles has been fair and scores are fully explained using a points system for basic art theory elements, how the artist articulated the theme, how they handled the challenge/limitations, sell-ability (based on studies of sales statistics), and even occasional points based on the artist’s attitude about the challenge. I’m not a Milan student and have no skin in this game, but the haters in these comments sections are either completely inept at exercising basic observation skills and/or are so shameful about their own skills that they think whining about other people’s art will help them feel better about their (instead of just practicing their own art techniques more and trying to improve, or 😬 signing up with Milan classes to get some help with that bad attitude.)

Al these styles, so great that you show that not only the old masters do matter but also new styles and mixing old and new is great. But I keep asking myself what style I will create. I am painting since a few months and will take your course. It is so cool learning from you! Can you tell me what is the difference between surrealism and abstract? I think I know because ofcourse Dali is surrealisme. But why isn’t that also abstract? Or is it also abstract? Just interesting for getting the things set in my mind :)
